Love the Unlovable

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

 Luke 6:27-28

Have you ever had to pull up all the strength that you had in your total being to love someone who you knew was against you? How in the world do you love people who you know are against you and who do not have your best interest at heart? Through the help of Jesus! Please do not try to do this on your own…YOU CANNOT!  You can do it with Jesus' help. He will equip you with what you need to live at peace with all men (Romans 12:18). 

 I know so many times in life we may ask ourselves... Why am I being treated this way? Why are people against me?

We have to step back and look at the situation where our enemies are doing hurtful things because they themselves are hurting (always remember hurting people hurt others). They are allowing the devil to use them. So how do we handle when people are against us? We love them with the love of Christ. How do we do this… by the Lord’s strength! I'm not saying it is the easiest thing in the world to do or saying that we have to be surrounded by their company. I am saying the Lord will give us the wisdom on how to handle the situation if we invite Him into it. He told us to do good to those who mistreat us. What blessings do we get only loving the ones who do good to us? The blessings come when we have to stretch, pour, and love those people who are unlovable (even when we do not want to!) We can do it with the help of the Lord. So, when we have to interact with those “hard to love people”, we can look at them with love. Remember, it is a blessing to love. Why? Because Jesus is love. He first loved us so it is important for us to love others!

Prayer: Father God in the name of Jesus. Lord, I know you have said in your word, to love my enemies, to do good to those who mistreat me. Father, I need your help!  You told me in your Word I have not, because I ask not. I am asking that you give me the strength and the anointing to love those who do things against me and not allow my heart to get hard towards them. Help me to see them through your eyes and through your love. Lord, I'm asking you to deliver me and deliver them as well. Father, save me and those who are against me so we both can be pleasing in your sight!  Thank you for your deliverance and saving power! In Jesus name, Amen.
